Garamantis presents at Plug and Play "Munich Winter Summit"

Online event hosted by the world’s biggest innovation platform

Can you remember the last time you went to a pharmacy and had an amazing shopping experience using, for example, a multi-touch screen or some other type of interactive technology? We were – and still are – thrilled to be asked by Sanofi three months ago to work with them on digital solutions for the pharmacies of the future.

On 3 and 4 February, the world’s largest seed accelerator – Silicon Valley’s plug-and-play platform – hosted the Munich Winter Summit 2021. At this public online event, everyone in Batch 5 had the chance to watch our startup pitch and those of many other young companies live. On 4 February, Garamantis and Sanofi presented their joint health tech project.

Towards innovative solutions for a pharmacy of the future in 3 months

During the Startup Creasphere kick-off phase, we agreed with Sanofi on following a design thinking approach in the initial testing and learning phase.

We focused on the biggest challenges pharmacy customers typically face, defined our key audiences, and embarked on a brainstorming process to develop disruptive concepts. It is always amazing to start by throwing wildly futuristic ideas into the “idea funnel”, but we then had to break down the most promising ones to a level that would allow the solution to be scaled technologically and that would allow us to develop a sustainable business model for a company like Sanofi.

With these design concepts in hand, Sanofi conducted an initial market research study in early January 2021, which gave us amazing insights into how pharmacists and customers perceive our solution.

We can now say that from a technical point of view there are no obstacles to starting a pilot project in selected French pharmacies of different sizes, and we are looking forward to Sanofi’s decision on our possible further implementation of this project. In any case, we would like to thank our colleagues from Sanofi and Plug and Play for these exciting and challenging 3 months. It has been a great pleasure for us to follow a goal-oriented and agile approach in this excellent cooperation so far!
