Immersive: Meaning, definition and examples
A medium, a space or an experience is described as immersive when it engages people’s senses so intensely that their real surroundings fade into the background and they feel as though they are right in the thick of the action. The word is derived from ‘immersion’, which means ‘to plunge into’. An immersive experience can be created through spatial vision, spatial sound, interaction, storytelling or virtual reality. VR headsets are not strictly necessary for this.
