FDP Federal Party Conference “Innovation Nation

Multi Touch Software with Twitter Connection

The multi-touch scanner table from Garamantis brought the digital party programme and special focus on innovation to life for the guests. They were invited to handwrite their personal innovation idea for Germany on a card. This was then digitised at the table and sent via Twitter.

On 12 and 13 May 2018, the 69th Ordinary Federal Party Congress of the FDP took place at the railway station in Berlin. Under the motto “Innovation Nation”, delegates discussed progressive policies to move the country forward.

Multitouch scanner table digitises ideas and innovations

The digital party programme and the special focus on innovation were made tangible for the guests with a multi-touch scanner table from Garamantis. They were invited to handwrite their personal innovation idea for Germany on a card, which was then digitised at the table and sent via Twitter. The inclusive concept and easy handling led to great interest and participation among the guests. There was no need to have a Twitter account or prior knowledge of the technology to use the multi-touch scanner table. As a result, not only older delegates but also many of the children present took part and drew their ideas, for example.

Interactive multitouch table tweets from federal party conference

The interactive table tweeted with the temporary account @fdpbpt2018 and under the hashtag #bpt18. The innovation tweets generated more than 60,000 impressions on Twitter during the conference. At the same time, the table acted as a Twitter wall for incoming tweets about the national party conference, informing visitors about the day’s programme and location. In addition, the FDP’s manifesto could be accessed and searched from all four sides of the table via small theme tags.

Interactive presentation explains trends

Garamantis also had its own exhibition space at the “liberal market”, where it presented interactive installations such as the Projection Mapping, which won the Innovation Award IT. According to the demands of the FDP, Germany should again take big steps towards the future and openness to technology. We are proud to have been able to work on this with Garamantis at the 2018 Federal Party Congress.

“The social media table by Garamantis was the highlight of our liberal market at the federal party conference. Thanks to the creative, ambitious and independent team, even minimal input was enough to have content developed for a media-effective social desk in no time. This aroused great interest among young and old – especially through its interactivity and use as an information point. Thanks to the professionalism and know-how of Garamantis, our expectations were exceeded. We thank them for the good cooperation and look forward to future projects.”
