Interactive Corporate Foyer
Panasonic Industrial Devices Europe creates a clear point of entry instead of a neutral reception area
Panasonic Industrial Devices Europe (PIDEU) has redesigned the entrance area at its headquarters in Lüneburg. The old foyer met functional requirements but offered no insight into the company’s technological offerings and lacked a clear point of entry. The aim was to create a space that immediately engages visitors, provides orientation and introduces them to the world of Panasonic Industrial.
A functional foyer
Garamantis developed a concept that uses the space as the first touchpoint. The custom-designed counter with its striking ribbed design serves as the central focal point. Integrated LED strips respond to situations within the space, creating an atmosphere that blends reception, lounge and transition. The new foyer fulfils a clear purpose: it introduces visitors directly to the theme, rather than merely welcoming them.
Interactive terminal installation for technologies and services
The centrepiece is a large-scale, interactive terminal installation that focuses on Panasonic Industrial’s technologies and services. In idle mode, it presents relevant content and invites interaction.
Visitors can select topics via touch and dive straight in. The presentation then evolves from an overview to the finer details. The installation serves both as a point of orientation and as a tool for initial conversations.
Mirrored glass creates spatial depth
Behind the mirrored glass, three 86-inch displays are integrated, though they themselves remain invisible. Digital content then appears to float into the space. The combination of reflection and luminosity creates a tangible sense of depth that works from various viewing angles. The content appears present without the screens themselves being visible. LED and sound effects enhance the feedback on interactions.
Three months from concept to implementation
The interactive corporate foyer was created in just three months – from the initial concept to on-site handover. Garamantis handled the concept, technical planning, software development, content management and integration. All elements were developed and implemented as a cohesive system.
Panasonic Industrial Devices Europe can tailor content to specific target groups via a central CMS. Existing customers are shown new technologies in a targeted manner, whilst potential customers receive a structured overview of the service portfolio.
An additional digital signage screen complements the space and provides up-to-date content during day-to-day operations.
Impact on day-to-day business
First impressions are no longer left to chance: visitors immediately find a way into the company’s content. Conversations begin with an orientation and then develop along the thematic structure. The space is equally suitable for guests, partners and employees. The foyer thus becomes an active part of corporate communications.
