Interactive trade fair exhibits for Diebold Nixdorf

Multi-touch system for advice, orientation and structured trade fair talks

Present complex content clearly - even on large exhibition stands

Diebold Nixdorf is an international technology group specialising in retail and banking. In the retail sector, the company develops solutions that combine physical and digital shopping processes – from self-checkout and POS systems to software and services for store operations. The company wanted to communicate its broad retail portfolio more clearly and accessibly. The Consulting and Advisory Services division presented a particular challenge, as it encompasses numerous topics and service areas. Furthermore, at large international trade fair stands, there was a lack of a clear introduction that would quickly engage visitors without overwhelming them.

Interactive entry point instead of classic presentation

The solution is a central trade fair exhibit for initial contact. It not only displays content, but also actively structures the dialogue.

Visitors select relevant topics together with the consultant. This results in individualised content guidance that leads into depth via the advisory approach. Content is not played out in a linear fashion, but is organised according to the situation. This creates a clear introduction to the dialogue that can be flexibly adapted to different target groups and interests.

Multi-touch table and screen wall as a coherent system

The exhibit combines an interactive table with a large-format screen wall. The screen wall attracts attention, while the table carries the interaction.

Both elements are linked visually and in terms of content. Content appears synchronised and supports the presentation. The system supports the advice of retail experts, but does not replace it. It helps to open up content together and deepen it in a targeted manner.

Customised software as a central control system

At its heart lies a specially developed multi-touch software that organises content and allows it to be combined in flexible ways. It provides a quick introduction to complex topics such as the in-store experience or self-service solutions, and guides users directly to relevant content.

At the same time, the presentation remains open enough to respond to individual questions. The software thus becomes the central tool for sales and consulting at the trade fair stand.

The defined retail worlds and the KPIs anchored in them are a central component of the experience. They form the content framework and make abstract topics tangible. After selecting a topic area, the visitor moves through a clearly structured retail world in which typical challenges, relevant KPIs and specific solutions are linked together. KPIs not only serve as key figures, but also as content-related anchor points for the dialogue. They help to categorise problems, make the effects visible and communicate the added value of the solutions in a comprehensible way.

Centralised CMS for international content and scaling

All content is managed via a central content management system. Changes can be implemented quickly and displayed in multiple languages. The system is designed to be scalable from the outset. In addition to mobile use at trade fairs, the solution is now set to be expanded to multiple installations, including the Customer Experience Centre in Berlin and international locations such as Singapore.

Worldwide use at trade fairs and in the showroom

The technical realisation is consistently designed for mobility. The system is transported in flight cases and can be reliably set up on different exhibition stands. The exhibit was used at events such as the NRF Retail's Big Show in New York and EuroShop in Düsseldorf.

Better conversations, more orientation, longer dwell time

The interactive setup has quickly established itself as a central tool. It makes it easier to start conversations and creates clear structures. Visitors find their way around more quickly, content can be communicated in a more targeted way and conversations go into greater depth more quickly. At the same time, the presentation remains flexible and adapts to different interests.
