Interactive exhibition with two pavilions by Umdasch Group in celebration of the company’s 150th anniversary
The Umdasch Group is one of Austria’s most traditional companies and will be celebrating its 150th anniversary at the Weltmuseum Wien in 2018. In an interactive exhibition, the group explores the themes of past, present and future.
Interactive corporate exhibition at the museum
Discover an engaging exhibit that showcases the pivotal role of business in addressing global challenges. This interactive journey spans two pavilions:
- The Past Pavilion: Dive into Umdasch’s historical milestones, set against the backdrop of the times that shaped them. This pavilion offers a reflective look at the company’s legacy and impact.
- The Future Pavilion: Venture into visions of tomorrow, where innovations and potential solutions to mankind’s challenges await. It’s an immersive exploration of what the future might hold, powered by interactive and multimedia technologies.
Designed and realized by Ars Electronica Solutions, the exhibit leverages the latest technologies to create an educational and stimulating experience, emphasizing how business innovation can lead the way in solving global issues.
Spatial Installations and Projection Dome
The centrepiece of the Past Pavilion in the middle of the room is in the shape of a tree trunk, reflecting the significance of its history. Around the trunk, visitors can listen to the stories of international employees on monitors mounted on the wall. A combination of wall prints and interactive monitors allows visitors to relive the 1960s through a semi-transparent screen, for example, or learn about the background to the construction of the world’s tallest building. Other stations include a hologram showcase and multi-touch screens with one-handed handsets.
The Future Pavilion offers a glimpse into the future of humanity. Focusing on megatrends such as energy and resource scarcity, urbanisation and the future of work, a projection on the vaulted ceiling provides an entertaining insight into futuristic necessities and possibilities.
Garamantis was commissioned by Ars Electronica to plan and implement the central content management system. The interactive stations are supplied with configuration and content via a network-based CMS. Garamantis also supported the conceptual development. The exhibition control system was implemented together with Ars Electronica Solutions.
